Storm Callum is set to hit the UK later this week, bringing heavy rain and gale-force winds up to 80mph, as the Met Office says there is a danger to life.
Forecasters have issued a yellow warning for Northern Ireland and western Britain on Friday.
The Met Office said there will be strong winds and rainfall up to 10cm, leading to possible flooding and difficult driving conditions.
Wales and the North West could have the heaviest deluge.
Gusts up to 60mph are likely in many areas and they could be as much as 80mph in the Outer Hebrides and the far northwest of the Scottish mainland.
The Met Office said there is the chance of injuries and a danger to life from flying debris. Some tiles could blow off roofs.
